Partick denied Dunfermline the chance to move top of the league after goals from Chris Erskine and Kris Doolan condemned Jim McIntyre's side to a 2-0 defeat.

Midfielder Chris Erskine put the home side into the lead in the 14th minute, squeezing home a right-footed shot from just inside the penalty area for his fourth goal of the season after being released by Kris Doolan's pass.

Striker Doolan doubled his side's advantage just before the break after he finished off Iain Flannigan's pass with a tidy finish.

Gary Mason nearly gave his team a lifeline late on but his long-range effort was tipped round the post by Partick keeper Scott Fox.

The win means Ian McCall's side extended their unbeaten league run to seven games.
