Ross Tokely's last-gasp goal gave Inverness Caley Thistle a precious win against Dunfermline in a dull SPL encounter.

The opening chance fell to Craig Dargo whose fierce shot was well saved by keeper Dorus de Vries.

With opportunities at a premium, Roy McBain decided to drive from distance on 26 minutes but De Vries was equal to it.

Five minutes before the break, Jim Hamilton tested Mark Brown with a ten-yard shot, but the keeper caught it easily.

The first half ended with a spark when Graham Bayne flashed a header just wide from a clever Richie Hart cross.

The Pars began fairly strongly after their teamtalk and skipper Greg Shields drilled over the bar from 25 yards.

Sloppy play from both sides was drawing groans from the crowd but Inverness went close with the next chance.

Tokely sent a low drive goalwards after Barry Wilson sent in a swerving cross to the box on 58 minutes.

A sub, Rory McAllister, was almost the hero with a dipping drive from distance on 78 minutes. He then turned provider when he sent John Rankin clear, but the ex-Ross County ace flashed it wide.

The goal did arrive though in the 90th minute when Tokely's shot was deflected past de Vries.
