Dunfermline 0-4 Partick- Match Report

Craig treble inspires Partick

A first-half hat-trick from striker Steven Craig ensured an emphatic 4-0 victory for high-flying Partick at Dunfermline.

Two close-range strikes from Craig were followed by a long-range effort from fellow striker Ross Forbes to put his side into an unassailable lead at East End Park after 22 minutes. Craig was then on hand to produce a simple finish from six yards to condemn the Pars to their third loss in as many league games.

Prior to the match, Dunfermline and Partick sat third and second in the table respectively, with Dunfermline trailing by eight points having played two games more.

The gulf in class was clear to see and Partick made their strong start count when Craig put the visitors in front from inside the six-yard box after some good work by Forbes.

The Jags began to dominate the play, and doubled their lead 10 minutes later with Forbes' fine strike from 35 yards.

The floodgates then opened as two more goals from Craig, both from Christopher Erskine deliveries, put the game to bed by half-time.
