YOU WAIT AGES FOR ONE KEEPER AND THEN ...

If various newspaper stories are to be believed, then it seems to be growing increasingly likely that the Pars could soon sign a second keeper to challenge Jamie Langfield for the NO.1 jersey at East End Park next season.

On Saturday it was reported by the Daily Record that Stewart Kerr - ex-Celtic and Wigan goalkeeper - had been offered training facilities by the Pars. Kerr had retired from professional football a few years ago due to injury, however he has a desire to regain full fitness in order to return to the game.

The other two possible goalkeeping options are strangely enough the keepers who the Pars have been looking all summer to replace, Derek Stillie and Marco Ruitenbeek.

The two had previously turned down contract offers from the Pars before the end of the season, Stillie wanting more money than was offered and Ruitenbeek wanting guaranteed first-team football.

The two keepers have both found contract offers hard to come by since leaving the club and reports from East End are suggesting that both have been approached about the prospect of returning to the Pars.

Should either of the two return however, Jim Leishman has stressed that the pay offers will not change due to the need to keep in line with a strict budget.
