YORKSTON FEELS THE PRESSURE

A very luck man to still be in a job this week.
Pars chairman John Yorkston has admitted that the Pars could suffer relegation this season such is the current prediciment at the club.

With the Pars four points of the bottom and with only one league win in nine Yorkston has finally given up hopes of the Top Six - aspirations which were amazingly still being broadcasting a month or so ago - and urged the club to buckle down in the battle for survival.

"I wish I could say we won't be relegated but unfortunately the bottom line is we're four points off the bottom of the table. That's a fact. We're in the relegation zone! Our main focus now must be to fight to stay up!"

The chairman admitted that relegation for the Pars could prove disastrous for off-field reasons aswell, "There's no guarantee we'd bounce back. We would have to cut the cloth accordingly."

However despite the Pars awful record this season - including shipping a diabolical ten goals in the last two games - Yorkston has failed to give Hay and his coaches their marching orders, and will only do so if the Pars are relegated.

"In the end it's based on results. You always want the manager to do better than where we are at the moment but he has had to cope with a lot of injuries this season and a smaller squad. You have to take account."

Presumably we also have to take into account the fact that Hay has overseen the exit of no fewer than eight players, hardly helping this 'injury crisis' in the process. Yorkston was then asked whether or not Hay would be in charge of the Pars next season.

"If we lose all the remaining games there's a chance he won't be. But things can change. We could win the next five games and everybody would be happy."

Not good enough Mr Yorkston! You sacked Dick Campbell after only a dozen or so games in charge, recognising that he wasn' the man for the Pars. Well Hay has been given much, much longer to prove his worth and he has failed miserably, either with a full-fit team or a depleted team.

The truth of the matter is that, with a two-week international break ahead, now would have been the perfect time for change as we embark on this crucial relegation battle. You may not want to 'rock the boat' as it were and sack Hay at such an important time of the season but let me tell you this, the boat is far from steady at this moment in time.

The fans want him out, Saturday's mass exodus with fifteen minuts left must have told you that, and you've failed to act. In my view you've bottled it! If we do drop down to division one - a very, very real possibility with the current management team at the helm - then you will be as responsible as anyone else for your role in the demise of the club you love!
