In a tranfser saga which seems to have went on for longer than the tedious Ferguson-to-Rangers saga, Ritchie is now expected to complete his move to the Dons on Thursday.
A statement on the Official Aberdeen Website www.afc.co.uk read:
"The scheduled press conference to announce the signing of Dunfermline's Ritchie Byrne has been put back due to a delay in the player's medical. With the first team squad off tomorrow (Wednesday) it is likely the press conference will be rescheduled for Thursday."
Some rumours are claiming that Byrne's unveiling will coincide with that of one or two other players - the Paatelainen brothers and Burton O'Brien - hence the reason for the delay.
