SKERLA NOT RUSSIAN OFF ANYWHERE

Only seven days after Andrius Skerla's departure from the Pars looked certain, the Lithuanian defender will now remain at the club after his move to Russia fell through.

After an emotional farewell at half-time in last Wednesday's Motherwell game, Skerla will now remain with the Pars for the forseeable future after Russian side Rubin Kazan failed to cough up the required transfer fee for the top-class centre-half.

With the deal dead, Andrius could be set to return to the Pars first-team for tomorrow's fixture at Celtic Park, although dislodging the on-form Andy Tod from the centre-half spot could be a different matter altogether.

Although you feel for Andrius in the respect that his move - which the defender had clearly set his heart on - has fallen through, the fact that a player as good as Andrius will remain at East End will undoubtedly delight the Pars faithful.
