RETURN OF THE CRAW?

With Pars chairman John Yorkston seemingly willing to release funds for a new striker, rumours have linked the recently-departed Stevie Crawford to return to the East End.

After joining English Championship side Plymouth Argyle in the summer Crawford has apparently found it difficult to settle, scoring just six goals in nineteen starts for his new club.

Although, with Crawford having only recently signed a four-year contract with The Pilgrims, any possible return to East End for the Scotland striker would seem a long way off the mark, bearing in mind the Pars’ financial difficulties.

Yorkston has moved quickly to quell any rumours, saying: “There’s nothing happening at the moment.” You’d have to feel that any Pars fan hoping for a swift return for the Pars legend shouldn’t hold their breath.

However, in other news, Partick Thistle’s Spanish striker Juan Ramon Escalas could be set for a move to East End Park in the upcoming transfer window.

In an effort to add strength and experience up-front, the Pars have been following the progress of the Spanish striker in recent months – with Escalas scoring 11 times in 20 appearances for the struggling First Division side.

Sources close to the Spanish striker have claimed that a deal could soon be done, with both sides apparently very interested in any potential move.
