Nicky Phinn has agreed a contract extension that will keep him at the club to the summer of 2009. Phinn has been with the Pars since 2004 and made his debut away to Falkirk at the age of 17 years 5 months and 28 days becoming the youngest Pars play to start at SPL match.

Scott McBride has also agreed an extension to his current contract with the club. McBride made his debut this season against Hearts in the CIS Cup.

Both players have shown promise at the Pars, with Phinn in particular turning in a number of impressive performances in recent seasons. And with up to 18 senior players out-of-contract at the end of this season the need to concentrate on youth players is greater now than, arguably, at any time in recent decades.

Other players to have received offers of new contracts include Calum Woods - excellent at right-back this season - and Scott Muirhead, depsite the left wing-back being dogged by injury and poor form this campaign. Rumours have also surfaced that Muirhead could be set to join former manager Stephen Kenny at Derry City in the near future.
