LANGFIELD TO JOIN DONS

Pars keeper Jamie Langfield has signed a three-year pre-contract agreement with Aberdeen according to reports in the Aberdeen Evening Express.

After failing to start a single game for the Pars this season Langfield has opted to join Jimmy Calderwood - the man who signed the keeper for the Pars - up at Pittodrie, following recent departee Ritchie Byrne.

Although the Pars had offered Langfield an extended deal at the club the big keeper's chance of first-team football appeared extremely remote such has been the form of Derek Stillie.

With Langfield set to join the Pittodrie side in the summer the keeper faces a battle with David Preece and Ryan Esson to secure the NO.1 jersey in the Dons side. Manager Jimmy Calderwood - gutted after Saturday's hiding from the Pars - spoke of his delight at securing the former Scotland U21 international's signature.
