English striker Tommy Johnson has joined English Championship side Tommy Johnson, quashing rumours that the ex-Gillingham man was about to join the Pars.

The striker - who was plied his trade at clubs such as Celtic, Aston Villa and Sheff Wed - has joined the Blades in a role which will focus more on the coaching side, with the striker being used only in emergencys for the first-team.

However with the signings of Jesper Christiansen and Georgi Hristov, as well as the return to fitness of Noel Hunt and Billy Mehmet, the striking situation at East End Park doesn't appear as desperate as it once was.
