HAY GIVEN DREADED VOTE OF CONFIDENCE

Yorkston stands by his man.
Pars chairman John Yorkston has vowed to stand by manager Davie Hay despite the Pars shocking form this season.

With just two league wins in twelve, culminating in Saturday's humiliation at Celtic Park, Pars fans have used forums and phone-ins to express their anger at the way the season has panned out.

Of Saturday's shameful 6-0 loss Yorkston said: "Celtic is always tough. But going with a team our size and with so many first-team players missing is near-Mission Impossible"

It certainly wasn't Mission Impossible last May when minus first-team stand-outs Stevie Crawford, Craig Brewster, Scott Thomson and Scott Wilson the Pars recorded a 2-1 Celtic Park win!

Yorkston went on to respond to criticism of Hay saying: "Nothing surprises me these days about what people say about the manager and the pressure he is under."

"I was confident at the start of the season that Davie Hay was the right man for the job and he has the best experience and qualities for us. And I am still confident of that."

With the Pars sitting four points off the bottom and slap bang in the middle of a relegation battle, you have to ask yourself whether Yorkston's words smack of a man convinced of his decision or a man afraid to admit his mistake.
