HAY DEFIANT AS PRESSURE MOUNTS

Has the dream team turned into a nightmare?!
Despite an utterly embarrassing 6-0 defeat at Celtic Park, manager Davie Hay remains confident that he can steer the Pars clear of relegation.

After a season depressingly frequent in below-average displays, many fans saw Saturday's Celtic Park collapse as a sign that the Pars board must act now if the unthinkable, relegation, is to be avoided.

However Hay is upbeat ahead of the run-in: "Our coming games, witout being disrespectful, will be easier. We have to overcome the defeat and show enough resolve, resiliance and ability to guarantee our safety."

Although calls for his head have occured more than once this season - the debacles at Perth (against Hafnarfjordur) and Bayview (against East Fife) being just two occasions when Hay came under fire - recent months had seen something of an acquiesce develop amongst the fans that Hay and his backroom staff had to be given time at the club.

However with the Pars recording only two league wins in their last twelve, a number of fans have once again voiced their dissaproval at Davie Hay's management of the club.

Aswell as a string of poor performances - the Aberdeen match excepted - fans have become worried about rumours of player unrest within the club, Gary Dempsey's mysterious exit from the club being the prime example.

And with Ian McCall this morning receiving his marching orders from fellow relegation strugglers Dundee Utd, some Pars fans are hoping that Pars Chairman John Yorkston follows their example.
