Dunfermline V Stranraer at East End Park - Match Preview

Jefferies to include Byrne

Dunfermline welcomed Shaun Byrne back to training on Friday after illness and he is included in manager Jim Jefferies' squad for the visit of Stranraer.

The Pars also include new signing striker Robert Thomson with Kerr Young and Josh Falkingham available after injury, however back up goalkeeper Michal Hrivnak has left the club.

Jefferies said: "Stranraer will be on a high after a great result against Ross County. They will view this game as a cup tie as well so we have been well warned.

"It was great to win 5-4 last weekend at Stenhousemuir but there are defensive mistakes that we have to take out of our game."

Stranraer list the same suspension and injury-free squad that saw off Ross County in the Scottish League Cup in midweek with manager Stephen Aitken delighted that his men face Dunfermline after their win over the Premiership side.

Aitken said: "The players were magnificent the other night and have been on a high since. Going to East End Park will keep them on a high as Dunfermline are a huge club and we will get a lift from playing them.

"It is a cracking stadium to play in and we have nothing to lose. We can go out and enjoy the experience and hopefully pick something up."
