You may take oor Byrne but you'll never take oor Nicholson!
Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood looks set to capture the signing of Ritchie Byrne from the Pars after Davie Hay admitted the two clubs were close to an agreement.

With Hay prepared to let Byrne move on, Aberdeen look set to secure the signature of the Irishman, although the Pittodrie club have not been so lucky in their bid to steal Barry Nicholson from East End.

An initial bid - reportedly in the region of £150k - was rejected by the Pars, with manager and Chairman alike stating that the two clubs were "very far apart" in their valuations of the Scotland internationalist.

Although, with the two clubs seemingly set to agree on a fee of around £70k, defender Ritchie Byrne looks to be the latest Par to choose the Northern Lights of Aberdeen over the bright lights of The Ballroom.
