Describing Ross as a "tremendous professional",Pars manager Jim McIntyre is delighted to have secured the deal.

He said: "Jack will give us cover in a position where we have none and will be healthy competition for Calum Woods. He is a valuable addition to our squad."

Ross, who can play at right-back, wing-back or right midfield, began his career with Dundee before moving on to Forfar Athletic.

However, he dropped down to junior football, where he played for Camelon, before returning to the senior ranks and playing for Clyde, Hartlepool, Falkirk and St Mirren.
