DECISION DAY FOR NICHOLSON

Last updated : 31 March 2005 By Pars Mad
Pars fans and management should today find out whether or not midfielder Barry Nicholson will be fit for the relegation battle which lies ahead.

Suffering from a hernia, Barry will decide whether or not to undergo an operation to solve the problem now or, alternatively, wait until the end of the campaign.

With the option of playing on with the injury highly risky for both the player and the club it would appear likely that Nicholson could be set to miss the rest of the season, in turn missing the crucial relegation fight facing the club.

The midfielder, although not reaching anywhere like last season's form, has been one of the Pars most consistent performers this season and so would be an obvious to the club should he be unavailable for the run-in.

With the Pars set to travel to Livingston this Saturday in arguably the most important game in years for the club, the Pars midfield looks decidedly lacking in options - the decision to release Dempsey, Butler and Bradley certainly seems sensible now don't you think!

Of course with Barry stalling over the signing of a new contract many Pars fans will be wondering whether or not they have seen their star midfielder play his last game for the club.
