ALL THE BEST TO LEE WILKIE

A giant amongst minnows - Wilkie scoring against the Faroe Islands
It has been confirmed that Lee Wilkie has suffered a recurrence of the injury which kept him out for over a year after injuring himself against the Pars last week.

Everyone who attended the match will have remembered a small section of the Pars support booing Wilkie as he lay injured on the turf. However many Pars fans, like myself, thought this was out of order and jeered the aforementioned section before applauding the big defender as he was stretchered off the pitch.

Banter between fans and players is part and parcel of the game, but when that abuse is targeted at a player who is quite clearly in distress after suffering a potentially career-threatening injury it is quite honestly sickening.

As a Scotland fan, and a football fan in general, I'd just like to wish Lee all the best for his recovery and hope that he makes a quicker return than he did when he suffered the injury the last time.
